As far as Cloudco Entertainment is concerned, the new Holly Hobbie series is pitch perfect. The company has inked a multi-season deal with Warner Music Group’s arts music division to release original music from the live-action Hulu original series. The music will be released under a new Cloudco Entertainment label imprint.

The first single, “Be the Change (Theme Song),” was released today, with additional tracks bowing throughout the summer in the lead up to the soundtrack album release on September 5.

Hulu commissioned Toronto’s Aircraft Pictures to produce a live-action series based on the Holly Hobbie brand last year for tweens and young girls. The show is produced by Aircraft in association with Cloudco (previously American Greetings Entertainment) and airs on Hulu in the US as well as on Family Channel in Canada. CBBC will launch the first season in the UK this summer.

The latest agreement with Warner comes as kids brands place a growing importance on music. Earlier this month, Entertainment One announced it would launch the first album inspired by its preschool brand Peppa Pig. eOne previously bowed the mini-album Here We Come inspired by its preschool series PJ Masks in 2017. Other preschool properties, including Pinkfong’s Baby Shark and Moonbug Entertainment’s Little Baby Bum have benefited from viral music moments.

Not as many older kids brands have taken advantage of song and dance in recent years, but with Disney Channel working on the High School Musical: The Musical series for its streaming service and KIDZ Bop expanding its media and content partnerships with UK broadcaster Sky Kids and German kidsnet Super RTL, this type of content could be coming back in style.
